Cassidy Svetek Honored as America East Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- University of Maine freshman field hockey forward Cassidy Svetek (Burlington, Ontario) has been named this week's America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Svetek led Maine's comeback charge at Vermont as the freshman scored Maine's first and second goals in the contest, her sixth and seventh tallies of the year, to help propel Maine to a 3-1 conference opening victory at Vermont.

For Svetek, this is her second America East Rookie of the Week honor as she also received the award on Sept. 17.

Maine continues America East action when it hosts Fairfield on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m.
