ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine field hockey saw action last weekend for its first spring tournament but the team announced three more spring tournament dates on Friday. The Black Bears will compete in tournaments at UMass Lowell, New Hampshire and Harvard, to close out the month of April.
The Black Bears will start with a tournament this coming Sunday, April 13 as the team heads to Lowell, Mass. Maine will partake in three 35 minute games which will include full field play and penalty corners. Starting at 11:30 Maine will take on, America East rival, UMass Lowell, followed by Vermont at 2:30 p.m., and Quinnipiac at 3:15 p.m. to close out the day.
Next Maine will travel to Durham, N.H. on April 19th, for a three game tournament. Like the tournament in Lowell, Mass., the games will also be 35 minutes. The Black Bears will play Harvard at 11:45 p.m., UMass Lowell at 1:15 p.m. and New Hampshire at 2:45 p.m.
Maine's final spring tournament will take place in Boston, Mass., on April 26 playing at the historic Harvard campus. The Black Bears are scheduled to play Boston University at 12:30 p.m., New Hampshire at 2 p.m. and Harvard at 4:20 p.m. Unlike the previous two tournaments, this slate of games will consist of two 20 minutes halves.
