Pam Patterson and Erin Reusch Named to the Academic All-District Team

ORONO, Maine--The University of Maine has announced that senior field hockey player Erin Reusch and senior women's ice hockey player Pam Patterson have been named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team. Reusch, from Salem, N.H., was captain of the field hockey team in the fall, starting all 16 games. She was fourth on the team in points while being named to the All-America East second team. Reusch had a 3.98 grade point average while majoring in kinesiology and physical education, including six straight 4.0 semesters. She was also the winner of the prestigious M Club Dean Smith Award which recognizes outstanding academic and athletic achievement along with citizenship and community service. Among her other accomplishments, Reusch has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad four years in a row, she was a member of the 2007 America East All-Academic Team, named to the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll, is a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award Winner and named the M Club Female Spirit Award winner this year. Patterson, from Miramichi, New Brunswick, was an assistant captain for the women's ice hockey team this winter, finishing tied for fourth on the team in points. She is majoring in business and is a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award Winner as well as being named to the 2006-07 Hockey East All-Academic team. Patterson was a winner of the 2006-07 Top-Scholar Athlete Award in Hockey East while being named to the Hockey East Academic All-Star Team as selected by having the top grade point average at a poistion.
