Brittany Ott Honored by WHEA
Wakefield, Mass. – A University of Maine women's ice hockey player has been honored with a Women's Hockey East Association (WHEA) weekly award. As announced by the league on Monday, Senior Goaltender, Brittany Ott (St. Clair Shores, Michigan) has been named this week's WHEA Co- Defensive Player of the Week.
Ott allowed two goals while posting 47 saves in 125:44 minutes of play over the weekend.
Ott played in 65 minutes of the 0-0 tie over conference opponent Vermont on Friday afternoon, allowing no goals with 24 saves. Ott was named first star for her efforts.
Ott got the start for the Black Bears in game two action on Saturday afternoon where she would allow two goals with 23 saves in the 3-2 overtime win. Ott sees her record improve to 4-10-2 on the season after the two game weekend.
The Black Bears will return to action on Saturday, January 26 as they faceoff against Connecticut and on Sunday, January 27 verse Providence. Game times are slated for 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
