Women's Ice Hockey Signs Jessica Bond
June 3, 2008
ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine women's ice hockey coach Dan Lichterman announced today that his program has received a commitment from defenseman Jessica Bond (Namur, Québec). Bond will join the Black Bears in the fall of 2008. "Jessica brings added size and skill to our blue line," said Lichterman. "Her poise with the puck and her ability to read situations will be a big asset to our team." Bond served as captain of the Cheminots St.-Jérome team last year where she scored 10 goals and added 20 assists. She has also played for Team Quebec in the Canadian Championships in Vancouver in 2005 and 2006. Bond has been named a first team all-star three times. Bond, a nationally ranked javelin thrower in Canada, will also compete on the track and field team while at Maine. All National Letter of Intent signings and commitments are contingent upon admission to the University of Maine and compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations, including registration with the NCAA Clearinghouse. -U-M-
