BEFORE UMAINE: Hails from Brantford, Ontario... Played her club soccer for the Burlington Sting... Helped lead the Sting to the 2008 Ontario Cup Championship... Also helped her team to a third place finish at the Canadian National Club Championships... Played at St. John’s College... Was named MVP of the soccer team... Also helped lead her basketball team to an undefeated season and provincial title.

COACH ATHERLEY ON BIJMAN: “Lisa is very smart and powerful. At the back, she reads the game well, and is dominant in the air. She makes sound decisions on the ball, and can relieve pressure with long, accurate passes. Lisa understands the balance between patience and aggressiveness as a defender. She is also a threat in the air on set pieces.”

MAJOR: Plans to major in KPE as a member of the Honors College.
