Harnais and Pellerin Receive America East Honors

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine women's soccer players Courtney Harnais (Braintree, Mass.) and Jordan Pellerin (Waterville, Maine) each received weekly honors from America East today. Harnais was named the America East Player of the Week, while Pellerin received America East Rookie of the Week honors. 

They are the first weekly honors for the Black Bears this season. 

Maine went 2-0-0 last week with victories over Holy Cross and Rhode Island. Harnais scored the game-winning goal in Maine's 1-0 win over Holy Cross last Tuesday. She followed that up by notching the game-winner in Maine's 1-0 victory over Rhode Island on Sunday afternoon. 

Harnais ranks second on the team in scoring with four points on the season. 

Pellerin set up the goal by Harnais on Sunday afternoon, finding her near the top of the box. Pellerin is tied for the team lead in assists with two. 

Maine returns to action on Friday, Sept. 16 when it travels to UMass.
