Maine Women's Soccer to Host Binghamton in America East Quarterfinal Game on Thursday
ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's soccer team will host Binghamton in the America East quarterfinals. The game will be played at Alumni Field in Orono starting at 1 PM on Thursday, Oct. 31. The winner will advance to the America East semifinals to be played on Sunday, Nov. 3 at Stony Brook.
Tickets prices are $8 for adults, $5 for youth 14 and under and $2 for students with a valid America East ID. The first 200 University of Maine students will get in free with their Maine Card. Tickets can be purchased at the gate on Thursday starting at noon.
Fans with the Black Bear Nation app can earn double points for checking in at the game. If fans do not have the Black Bear Nation app, they are encouraged to download it today.
Maine enters play on Thursday with a record of 8-5-4 overall. The Black Bears finished third in the America East conference standings with a record of 5-2-1. Maine is led by Evé L'Abbe (Laval, Quebec) who has 11 points on the season. She has four goals and three assists. Charlene Achille (Longueuil, Quebec) is adding four goals and one assist for nine points. Maggie Malone (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and Jordan Pellerin (Waterville, Maine) have each tallied three goals and an assist for seven points.
Maine has allowed just 16 goals in 17 games this season. Anchoring the defense is keeper Lauren Swant (Oakville, Ontario) who is 8-5-3 on the season with a 0.89 goals against average and a .795 save percentage. She has five shutouts.
The America East All-Conference Teams are scheduled to be released early this afternoon.
