Women's Soccer Falls to Bryant 1-0
ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's soccer team fell to Bryant 1-0 on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Mahaney Diamond in Orono, Maine. The Black Bears even their record to 1-1-0 on the season, while Bryant also moves to 1-1-0 on the campaign.
Bryant struck first with the lone goal of the game at 9:04. On a rush, Hannah Crofut fed Katy Biagi who kicked the ball past Maine keeper Claudia Dube-Trempe (Chambly, Quebec) from inside the goal box. For Biagi, it was her first goal of the season.
Maine had several great chances to get the equalizer, but was never able to knot the score. Jordan Pellerin (Waterville, Maine) had a pair of great chances late. Liis Emajoe (Tallinn, Estonia) led the Black Bears with three shots.
Maine outshot Bryant 15-4 in the game, including 9-1 in the second half. Dube-Trempe made a pair of saves and falls to 1-1-0 on the season. Kaylan Conrad made three saves in goal for the Bulldogs and improves to 1-1-0.
The Black Bears return to action on Friday, Aug. 29 when they travel to Fairfield for a 7 PM game.
