Women's Soccer Falls at Fordham 2-0

BRONX, NEW YORK -- The University of Maine women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Fordham on Sunday afternoon. The Black Bears fall to 1-3-0 on the season, while Fordham improves to 3-1-0. 

Fordham struck first, with a goal in the 20th minute. Ivana Lahcanski crossed the ball to Nicol Natale who had her shot from 10-yards out beat Maine keeper Lauren Swant (Oakville, Ontario). The Rams added to their lead early in the second half when Kate McDonnell got a cross from Natale 15-yards out and fired the back into the back of the net. For McDonnell, it was her second goal of the season. 

Fordham outshot Maine 16-4 in the game. Swant finished with a pair of saves and falls to 0-2-0 on the season. Ally White made two saves to record the shutout for Fordham. 

Eve L'Abbe (Laval, Quebec) led Maine with three shots, while Liis Emajoe (Tallinn, Estonia) had one. 

Maine returns to action on Friday, Sept. 5 when its travels to Holy Cross. Kick off is scheduled for 7 PM.
