Softball Blanked at USF

TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of Maine softball team fell at South Florida by a score of 11-0 in five innings on Tuesday evening. The loss slips Maine back to 1-20 while the Bulls improve to 16-10.

Kourtney Salvarola led the Bulls with a 2-for-2 night including a grand slam and two runs scored. USF added seven runs, on two more home runs, in the bottom of the third, to take an 11-0 lead.

Beth Spoehr (Appleton, Wis.) takes the loss for Maine after going two innings and giving up six runs, five earned, on five hits with one strikeout.

Maine returns to the diamond tomorrow at 2:30 PM when they face Valparaiso before meeting Florida Gulf Coast at 4:45 PM
