ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine softball team swept the America East weekly awards, as announced on Wednesday afternoon by the league. Kristen Koslosky (Castro Valley, Calif.) was named the America East Player of the Week while Alexis Bogdanovich (South Portland, Maine) earned Pitcher of the Week honors. Freshman Felicia Lennon (Brookfield, Conn.) closed out the awards as she earned America East Rookie of the Week accolades.
Koslosky, a junior second baseman, hit .667 (4-for-6) in a pair of wins at UMass Lowell over the weekend. Koslosky scored four runs with a RBI, two doubles, two stolen bases and a walk. Koslosky began her weekend by going 1-for-2 with two runs scored, a double, a walk and a stolen base before wrapping up the weekend with a 3-for-4 showing with two runs scored, a double, another stolen base and a RBI. Koslosky finished the weekend with a .714 on-base percentage and five putouts.
Bogdanovich, a junior pitcher, picked up her third win of the season as she went the distance in a 6-inning victory over UMass Lowell. The righty gave up just one run on six hits with a career-high 10 strikeouts.
Lennon, a freshman shortstop, belted home runs in each of Maine's two games on her way to rookie of the week honors. Lennon batted .444 (4-for-9) with five RBI and five runs scored with a stolen base. Maine's rookie shortstop went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI to go along with her first career home run before adding a 2-for-5 showing with another home run, two runs and three RBI in game two of a doubleheader at UMass Lowell.
The Black Bears now travel to take on last season's defending regular season champion Albany. Maine will meet the Great Danes on Saturday, April 5 at noon in doubleheader action before closing the series with a single game on Sunday, April 6 at 11 a.m.
