Swimming and Diving Release 2012-13 Schedule

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine swimming and diving head coach Susan Lizzotte has announced the team's 2012-13 schedule. The Black Bears will host three events on the women's side and a pair of events on the men's side. Maine will also host this season's America East Championships at Stanley M. Wallace Pool.

The Black Bears begin the 2012-13 season with a meet at Rhode Island on Oct. 26 at 6:00 p.m. Maine then travels to Bryant on Nov. 1 for a 5 p.m. start before facing Boston College and Liberty in a dual meet the following day at Boston College beginning at 5 p.m.

The women's squad will then host Vermont at Wallace Pool on Nov. 10 with a 12 p.m. start time scheduled. The two teams will then take back to the road as it will compete in the two-day URI Invitational beginning Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. and concluding the following day with events beginning at 10 a.m. Maine then travels to battle in-state rival Bates College on Dec. 8 at 1 p.m.

Following the return from winter break, Maine will host a pair of meets starting with Providence College on Jan. 17 at 4 p.m. before welcoming Bowdoin to Wallace Pool on Jan. 19 at 11 a.m.

The Black Bears then travel to compete in the Dartmouth Invitational held in White River, Vt. Day one will begin on Jan. 25 with events scheduled to continue the following day. Start times for the Dartmouth Invitational are to be determined.

Maine then travels to battle rival New Hampshire on Feb. 1 at 5 p.m. to conclude the 2012-13 regular season.

The America East Championships will begin on Feb. 14 and run through the 17th. This year's Championship will be hosted by the Black Bears and take place at Wallace Pool.
