Record-Breaking Performances Earn Kara Capossela Diver of the Week Honor

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine women's diver Kara Capossela (Greenwich, Conn.) has earned her fourth America East Diver of the Week award of the season, as announced by the conference on Tuesday evening. Capossela highlighted her week by breaking both the one and three-meter dive school records.

Capossela picked up three wins over the past week, including a pair of wins against Bowdoin. In the meet against Bowdoin, Capossela took first place in the one-meter with a school-record score of 265.75 while also winning the three-meter event with another record-breaking score of 279.65. The junior diver broke Audrey Harlow's one-meter mark of 256.15 and Bryn Fenton's three-meter mark of 267.50.

Capossela's record-breaking mark in the three-meter event is tops in the America East thus far.

Prior to the Bowdoin meet, Capossela won the one-meter event against Providence on Thursday with a score of 245.95.

The Black Bears return to action on Friday, Jan. 25 at the Dartmouth Invitational in White River Junction, Vt.
