Track and Field Notches Four Top-10 School Marks in Day One at New Englands

BOSTON, Mass. – University of Maine track and field athletes notched four top-10 school marks on day one of the New England Championships hosted by Boston University.

On the men's side, Daniel Roukey placed 16th in the 200 meter prelims with a time of 22.28, which is tied for fourth on the all-time list at Maine while Frank Del Duca was just behind in 18th with a time of 22.36, which is sixth on the all-time list.

Liam Nee was 20th in the 800-meter prelims with a time of 1:53.91 while Arthur Von Marschall was 22nd in the 60-meter hurdle prelims with a top-10 school mark of 8.79.

John Bergstrom is currently fifth in the heptathlon with 2,627 points while Matthew Toothaker is seventh with 2,508 points. Both will finish competing tomorrow.

On the women's side, Mary Scanlan advanced to tomorrow's 800 meter finals as she took seventh in the prelims with a top-10 school time of 2:15.47.

Jessica McCarthy was 27th in the prelims of the 60 meters with a time of 8.11 while Kourtney Bonsey took 19th in the 5,000 meters in a time of 18:29.68.

The men's and women's track and field teams finish competition tomorrow.
