Women's Track and Field Sets a Pair of School Records at Holy Cross Invitational

WORCESTER, Mass. – Robyn McFetters smashed the school record in the hammer throw to lead the women's track and field team at the Holy Cross Invitational.

McFetters easily qualified for the ECAC Championships with her winning throw of 185-10. It supplanted the previous school record of 175-02 set by Rebecca Even in 2009, and ranks 27th in the East Region.

Corey Conner also broke a school record, improving her own mark by just over a tenth of a second in the 1,500 with a time of 4:27.00 to win the event. It also qualifies for the ECAC Championships.

Katy Grime notched a top-3 school mark in the discus with a winning throw of 132-06.

Allison Fereshetian had a top-5 school mark in the 100 hurdles, as she won the event with a time of 14.48 and was second in the 400 hurdles with a top-5 school mark of 1:03.33.

Mary Scanlan took second in the 800 meters with a top-7 school time of 2:14.74 while Carolyn Stocker won the 5,000 with a time of 17:47.41.

Angelica Nelligan-Smith was third in the pole vault with a top-5 school mark of 10-06.00 while Marie Dufresne-Dixon was fourth with a vault of 10-00.00, a top-6 school mark.

Maine was fourth in the seven-team meet with 117.50 points.
