Corey Conner Blows Away Competition at Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. – University of Maine women's track and field standout Corey Conner won the 5,000 meters in the College Division at the prestigious Penn Relays on Thursday night.

The senior from Townsend, Mass., blew away the competition to win in a time of 16:01.37, outdistancing the runner-up by over 15 seconds. She broke her own school record in the event that she set earlier this season.

The time easily qualifies for the ECAC Championships, and currently ranks among the top-10 in the East Region and top-20 in the nation this season.

The men's and women's track and field squads continue their seasons at New Hampshire this weekend.
