Conner, Cullenberg Named Performers of the Week

Cambridge, MA – University of Maine senior women's cross country runner Corey Conner (West Townsend, MA) and junior men's cross country runner Kelton Cullenberg (Chesterville, ME) have been tabbed this week's America East performers of the week. Conner and Cullenberg are the second set of teammates to sweep the weekly awards this year.

Conner won Saturday's race, posting a time of 17:28.29 in the women's 5k race.  Not only did she win the race, but she did it in dominating fashion, finishing nearly two and a half minutes ahead of the runner-up.

After taking the 2011 season off, Conner looks to be in contention for the 2012 America East individual title after winning it in 2009 and placing third in 2010.

Cullenberg led the entire 6k race for the men, as he finished the course in a time of 18:20.54. Cullenberg was one of three Black Bears to finish in the top five. 

The Black Bears will compete again this Friday, September 14 when they travel to the University of New Hampshire. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM.
