Black Bears Fall to UNH

Orono, Maine – The University of Maine women's cross country placed second in the 5k race this afternoon. Corey Conner (West Townsend, Mass.) finished first overall with a time of 16:52.1, which was nearly two minutes faster than the runner-up.

The Black Bears had four runners place in the top 10. Annabelle Wilson (Geelong, Australia) came across the finish line at 18:25.4, which was good enough for second place. Rachel Wilkinson (South Portland, Maine) placed seventh and Kourtney Bonsey (Falmouth, Maine) finished ninth.

Maine had 19 runners compete today with an overall time of 1:32:53.70 and an average time of 18:34.74.

The Black Bears will compete again on October 7 at the New England Championships in Westfield, Mass. The race is scheduled to begin at 12:00 P.M.
