      <description>CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The University of Maine had the highest percentage of its fall student-athletes named to the America East Fall Academic Honor Roll, released on Friday, Feb. 1. The Black Bears had 78.1 percent of its fall student-athletes honored. Maine had 42 of those student-athletes earn a 3.5 grade point average or higher.</description>

One-hundred sixty five student-athletes will be recognized as Scholar-Athletes for achieving a 3.0 or better grade point average for the 2012 year and/or having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Eighty-five first-year student-athletes will also be honored as *Rising Stars* for earning a 3.0 or better in their first semester at Maine. Maine had the highest percentage of fall student-athletes named to the honor roll as 74.2 percent achieved a 3.00 GPA or higher.</description>
