Cross Country Teams to Host Murray Keatinge Invitational this Weekend

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams will host the Murray Keatinge Invitational this Saturday beginning at 10 a.m., at the Maine Cross Country Course on the Orono campus. The women's race will begin at 10 a.m., with the men's to follow at 11 a.m. Teams running in the men's race include: Dartmouth, Yale, New Hampshire, Holy Cross, Central Connecticut, St. Francis Xavier and the University of New Brunswick. The women's race will include: Duke, Dartmouth, Yale, New Hampshire, Holy Cross, St. Francis Xavier and the University of New Brunswick. The meet marks the third race of the season for both Black Bear teams. The women's team has won each of its first two races this season, including a 26-29 victory over New Hampshire last weekend in Orono. Elonnai Hickok won the women's individual title at the meet with a time of 17:54. Two weeks ago at the UMass Invite in Amherst, Mass., Jessica Belliveau won the individual race for Maine in a time of 17:39.
The men's team has also had a solid start to the season. Two weeks ago at the UMass Invite, the Black Bears finished second out of five teams, and last week, dropped a tough 27-29 decision to UNH. David Englehutt was Maine's highest finisher in UMass as he finished sixth in 25:14. Chris Harmon was the top runner for the Black Bears last week versus the Wildcats as he placed second with a mark of 25:32.
