Box Score Columbus, OH – The University of Maine Black Bears were defeated by the Buckeyes of Ohio State on Wednesday night, 95-61.
 
The Black Bears got it going from 3-point range early in the contest as 
Gedi Juozapaitis and Ja'Shonté Wright-McLeish each buried one to give the Black Bears the early 6-5 lead just over two minutes into the contest.
 
The Buckeyes answered with a 7-0 run into the first media timeout of the contest, taking a 12-6 lead over the Black Bears into the stoppage.
 
Ohio State started to slowly pull away from the Black Bears as the half wore on as the Buckeyes moved to a 21-point lead at the half, 47-26.
 
Gedi Juozapaitis was solid in the opening half as he scored 10 points for the Black Bears, including a pair of three-pointers.
 
Kellen Tynes (8-2-3) turned in a good opening 20 on the night.
 
Zed Key led the Buckeyes with 10 points in the opening half.
 
The Black Bears came out in the second half trading buckets with the Buckeyes over the first five minutes of the second half.
 
Maine kept the deficit around 20 points for the majority of the second half until the Buckeyes went on a 13-0 run that lasted until 4:09 remaining in the second half.
 
The Buckeyes took the victory on the night, 95-61.
 
Maine was led offensively by 
Kellen Tynes (19-3-6) and 
Gedi Juozapaitis (16-2-1) in the losing effort.
 
Brice Sensabaugh led the Buckeyes in scoring on the night with 19.
 
Maine (6-6) will next be in action on Wednesday, Dec. 28 as they face off against Harvard at home. That game is scheduled for a 7:00 P.M. tip-off at the Cross Insurance Center.
