Jackson Root enters his second year as a member of the Baseball staff. In his first season in 2023, he served as the Director of Operations.

Root got involved in coaching with his Dad, who is a long time high school coach in Vermont, he started his coaching career serving as the pitching Coach for Essex High School from 2020-22.

He took over as General Manager and Head Coach for the Colchester Cannons, a legion and travel summer team, which he has spent the previous four seasons being a part of their organization from 2020-24. 

He has a background in pitching analytics and player development and will serve as an Assistant Coach and Pitching Coordinator on Nick Derba's staff.

A 2022 graduate of the University of Vermont, Root got his bachelors in Public Communications with a minor in Political Science.
