Women's Basketball to Host Fan Appreciation Day and Free Kids Clinic
ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's basketball team will host Fan Appreciation Day, including the Blue/White scrimmage as well as a FREE kids skills clinic, on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 'The Pit' inside Memorial Gymnasium.
A full morning of events have been planned as the women's basketball squad will host Fan Appreciation Day. The morning will start out with women's basketball practice from 9:00-9:30 before the team will split in half for the Blue/White scrimmage from 9:30-11. Following the Blue/White scrimmage, Coach Barron will welcome the crowd and the Kids Skills Clinic will begin and run from 11-11:45. After the clinic, the team will be on hand for an autograph session until noon.
All fans who attend the Fan Appreciation events will receive a free ticket, while supplies last, to the men's basketball game against Laval, which begins at noon. Also, fans are welcome to check out the UMaine CultureFest, which will be taking place in the fieldhouse from 11:30-3, and also the Maine Field Hockey Senior Day game against UNH, starting at noon.
The FREE Kids Clinic, beginning at 11 am, is open to all girls and boys eighth grade and under. All who attend will get the opportunity to learn skills and fundamentals from Coach Barron, his staff and members of this season's women's basketball team.
