Brittany Ott Honored by WHEA

Wakefield, Mass. – A University of Maine women's ice hockey player was honored with a Women's Hockey East Association (WHEA) weekly Award. As announced by the league on Monday, senior Goaltender, Brittany Ott (St. Clair Shores, Michigan) has been named this week's WHEA Defensive Player of the Week. This marks the third time this year that Ott has been honored with the weekly award.

Ott allowed two goals while registering a career high 72 saves in a 2-1 quarterfinal overtime loss to Boston College on Friday night. She anchored the Black Bears between the pipes, making several phenomenal saves before allowing the first goal at 9:07 of the third period. Ott was named third star for her spectacular performance.

She finished the 2012-13 season with a record of 5-16-3, allowing 86 goals against with 797 saves in 1426:04 minutes of play.
